Ghost of Tsushima Soars to 4th Biggest PlayStation PC Launch

Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut becomes PlayStation's 4th largest PC release, with over 61,000 concurrent players.

The recent launch of Ghost of Tsushima Directors Cut, on PC has been quite impressive solidifying its position as one of the PlayStation releases on Steam. With a player count of 61,453 this anticipated port has surpassed several other well known Sony games since it hit the platform on Thursday, May 16th.

Developed by Sucker Punch Productions and handled by Nixxes for the PC release this samurai adventure has outshined titles like Horizon Zero Dawn Uncharted; Legacy of Thieves Collection and The Last of Us Part 1, in terms of player numbers. Only Helldivers 2 God of War and Marvels Spider Man Remastered have managed to achieve player counts on Steam.

Ghost of Tsushima Directors Cut has received glowing reviews from gamers in addition, to its player base. The game has earned a ” rating on Steam based on over 6,000 user reviews showcasing its popularity on PC.

However the PC release has encountered some issues with its online multiplayer mode, Legends. Initially players were required to log in with a PSN account on PC for crossplay, which caused some controversy. Nixxes has addressed this by labeling the crossplay feature as “beta ” indicating that while it works it may not be fully optimized yet.

Despite these challenges Ghost of Tsushima Directors Cut has been a hit on PC delighting players, with its graphics engaging gameplay and compelling story. With more PlayStation exclusives heading to PC it’s evident that Sony sees the platform as a way to reach audiences and share their acclaimed titles with a broader gaming community.
